Suppose you have any questions about whether you can play CDGs on your favorite DVD player. Since it’s usually pretty easy to find either version of a disc, you should have no problem playing them on your DVD player. But that’s often the case with older discs. The only exception will be if the discs are specifically formatted for use with a CD player only. You shouldn’t have any problems using either of them for your CDG discs. In some cases, manufacturers won’t include both formats on one disc as long as you have a player that can handle either format. You can easily play a CDG on a DVD player as long as it makes the disc work on both formats. So there shouldn’t be any difference in quality or performance. Both of those formats have been created from the same source. A DVD is a CD that’s been modified for a DVD player. A CDG is a DVD formatted for a CD player.
